Clark won the award after leading the Indiana Fever to the playoffs, giving the team back-to-back winners after Aliyah Boston won in 2023.
Surprisingly, Clark wasn’t the unanimous winner, as she received 66 of the 67 votes for Rookie of the Year.
One voter placed Reese ahead of Clark.
Fans of Clark raged about this snub, but quickly turned their attention to Reese for not acknowledging her rival’s award win.
Instead of congratulating Clark, Reese promoted her podcast, Unapologetically Angel, on social media.
“NEW EPISODE OUT NOW!! WE DROPPED SOME GEMS!!” she posted.
Fans were quick to reply asking Reese to congratulate Clark for winning Rookie of the Year.
“You lost rookie of the year but you’re tweeting this,” one fan said.
“Yeah! U forgot to congratulate CC for her ROTY award. It’s all good, she has enough fans to last her her whole career,” another fan said.
“Congrats on your single vote for rookie of the year,” a third fan said
“You not finna congratulate your fellow mate for rookie of the year?” a fourth fan said.
“Make sure you shout out the #ROTY,” a fifth fan said.
Fans have been so wild on social media that some awards voters have come out to ensure fans of who they voted for.
“Just so we’re clear… it wasn’t me,” Connecticut reporter Terrika Foster-Brasby wrote.
“I voted for CC. So don’t blow me up or call me a hater cause IT WASNT TERRIKA.”
