Basketball fans hit out at Team USA coach Cheryl Reeve for her nonchalant response on whether she was second-guessing her decision to snub Caitlin Clark from Team USA’s roster for the Paris Olympics.
Ahead of the Saturday’s All-Star game, Reeve offered a defiant “No” as an answer when a reporter quizzed the Minnesota Lynx’s coach on Caitlin Clark’s snub.
Hoops fans didn’t appreciate Reeve’s response and the manner in which she responded. Fans on social media did not hold back, calling Reeve a “bully” and “bitter”.
“She’s a bully. I hope she’s done before the next Olympics!” a fan commented.
“She’s so bitter…hope this is the last time she’s anywhere near USA Basketball,” wrote another X user.

One of the fans wondered about the reason behind Reeve’s dismissing response to a question on Clark.
“Does she have some weird agenda against Clark or is she just tired of being asked about not considering her for the team?”
“She must be a blast at parties 😂 it’s silly to be so prideful about it. Clearly this was a huge mistake and now more than ever after Clark is breaking all kinds of WNBA records and leading her team to 7th currently after being the worst team in the league,” opined another fan.

One of the X users launched an all-out verbal assault at Cheryl Reeve.
“This lady is rotten to the core (much of the WNBA too). You all suck, you haters. Move over already.”
“She is the worst kind of coach. She will never admit she is wrong about anything, that she doesnt have all the answers or that she has anything to learn from someone else,” another fan commented.

Caitlin Clark on missing out on Paris Olympics
Caitlin Clark offered a humble response when asked whether Team WNBA’s 117-109 win over Team USA was vindication for her and others for not being on the Olympic team.
“Um, no. They’re really good. They have plenty of talent on that team… four years prior I’m pretty sure Team WNBA beat Team USA… if anything, it shows how good this league is,” Clark said as posted by Matthew Byrne on X.
Clark put on a playmaking masterclass in the 2024 WNBA All-Star game. The Indiana Fever rookie recorded 10 assists and scored four points.
Clark’s snub from the Olympic team has been widely debated over the last month. A section of fans and pundits have slammed the Team USA decision-makers for leaving the Fever rookie out of Team USA.
Caitlin Clark is leading the Rookie of the Year race and is also 3rd in the MVP odds. The 22-year-old leads the league in assists with 8.2 dimes per game.
