Lynx Head Coach Cheryl Reeve’s Comment on Caitlin Clark Leaves Fans Speechless

Prior to the 2024 Paris Olympics, Team USA and Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve made a statement about Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark’s impact on the road that hit a nerve for many.

“I don’t give two s****,” Reeve said when asked about a possible pro-Indiana crowd ahead of the first Fever-Lynx meeting in Minneapolis.

Fast forward to over a month later, and the Lynx are once again hosting Clark and the Fever. Minnesota will also be celebrating Maya Moore as they hang her jersey in the rafters.

Before the game, Reeve commented on the road crowds Clark brings in but had quite a different take on the matter.

“I thought that it was really cool that [Clark’s] senior year of college,” Reeve said. “She became a roadshow… We’ve wanted to play [in] a league that can sort of transcend some of these spaces and have a roadshow… Caitlin Clark and some of these other rookies give us that. Obviously, Caitlin being a big headliner.”

In July, Reeve shut down the idea of Clark being a “roadshow,” but now, she thinks it’s important for the league.

WNBA fans instantly noticed the contradiction between her two comments and didn’t appreciate the inconsistency, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.
