Sam Dekker called out Sheryl Swoopes for stating Caitlin Clark’s teammates want to leave the Indiana Fever. The former NBA forward took to X and used his experience playing alongside James Harden to refute Swoopes’ take.
|”Being on the Rockets with Prime Harden was the best shit ever. We were on National TV all the time, won a ton of huge games in awesome moments, and he made the game incredibly easy for guys like me. I don’t believe for a second that the team dislikes it.”

This comes after Swoopes, one of Caitlin Clark’s leading critics, said the historic rookie’s teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell may be more valuable on other teams.
|”There is a lot of other s*** going on that players are like this ain’t where I wanna be. You have players that are very significant on this Indiana Fever team who are like, I don’t wanna be here.”
Of all the things Swoopes said today, what bothered me most was to imply there’s problems in the Fever locker room and that KM and AB are better off elsewhere.

Boston and Mitchell became All-Stars this season alongside Clark. Contrary to Swoopes’ comments, they also seem happy to play with the No. 1 overall pick. Boston even posted lighthearted social media videos that display her camaraderie with Clark. The pair appear in a viral workout video and a mini-golf tournament, where the forward excelled.
Sheryl Swoopes explains how Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever can pull off an upset in the WNBA playoffs
Despite Sheryl Swoopes’ latest statements about Caitlin Clark, the WNBA legend said the guard is a key factor in a potential Indiana Fever postseason upset. To gain that playoff success, Clark’s All Star teammates must help her. Below is a look at the progression of Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.
|”For the Fever, offensively, they can score with the best of them. You got Caitlyn handling the rock. I think the best part of her game right now is her ability to just pick the defense apart and get the ball where she needs to. Defensively, besides Aliyah Boston, besides Lexie Hull. … I worry about thier defense.”
Mitchell is posting her best season scoring-wise at 19.6 points per game while shooting 46.7% from the floor, also a career-high. Even LeBron James hyped her pairing with Caitlin Clark after the two torched the Dallas Wings.
Meanwhile, Boston’s scoring has regressed slightly from last season, but she’s focusing more on defense and helping her team in different ways. She grabs 9.0 rebounds per game, averages 3.2 assists and has 13 double-doubles.
The Fever earned only one win this year against the Connecticut Sun, their upcoming playoff opponent. However, that win came in the teams’ most recent matchup. Perhaps Indiana’s big-three has figured out their latest test at just the right time.
