AKA’s parents, Lynn and Tony Forbes have spoken out about the rapper’s brutal m@@der, two months since his d@@th.
Slain rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes was gunned down on 10 February, outside a restaurant on Florida Road, Durban.
In an interview with You, Tony and Lynn Forbes gave the Mass Country hitmaker’s fans an update about his m@@der investigation and how they have been dealing with his d@@th as a family.
While Tony Forbes watches CCTV footage of the rapper’s final moments over and over again, AKA’s mother said she can’t bring herself to watch the traumatic footage.
For Tony, rewatching the footage helps him cope, because, “it’s almost like I was there with him.”
Despite the family acknowledging that their son’s m@@der was a planned hit, the Forbes family are not living in fear.
The Forbes’ say the hit was directed at their son solely and not the family in its entirety. Therefore, no member of AKA’s family are living in fear.
“We know someone ordered as assassination on Kiernan and it was executed. We think it was a hit specifically on him and not on the family. It doesn’t mean we’re not vigilant or not taking precautions, but we don’t feel less safe or more threatened because of what happened.”
