Paris more recently due to the ongoing controversy surrounding the opening of the Olympic ceremonies, as some deemed one scene to be extremely controversial. The backlash for the Olympics only continued as two fighters were deemed eligible to participate in women’s boxing after failing tests, causing them to not be allowed to fight in the world championships.
One of these fights went insanely viral after Italian boxer Angela Carini faced off against Algerian boxer Imane Khelif during the 2024 Olympics. The fight was called off just 46 seconds in due to a punch thrown by Khelif.
The fight caused a massive online straw, so much so that it caught the attention of celebrity boxer Jake Paul, who was not impressed by the Olympic committee’s decision to allow the fight. Paul clarified his thoughts on X as he posted to the platform, stating, “This is sickening. This is a travesty. Doesn’t matter what you believe.”
Jake Paul Slams Olympic Committee
El Gaillo continued his rant by adding that allowing the fight to go on was “wrong and dangerous.” Under Paul’s words was a video of the fight that showed Carini’s tears after ending the fight, claiming it was unfair. However, Carini’s tears may not last that long after Paul’s recent offer to the Italian boxer.
Angela Carini could soon have the most significant moment of her life, as Jake offered her a fight on a Most Valuable Promotions card. Paul owns Most Valuable Promotions with co-founder and Partner Nakisa Bidarian.
Paul wrote Carini, “Although your dreams couldn’t come true today… I would love to offer you a fight on an MVP undercard.” He also added that he offered her the opportunity to show her “skills on a fair platform and not against a man.”
While Carini’s camp has given no response, it is almost definite with Jake’s fan base that the offer will reach Carini in no time.
