Connecticut Sun guard Dijonai Carrington had an exceptional performance on Monday night against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

Not only did Carrington play tenacious defense from start to finish, she had 22 points, six rebounds and three assists. Unfortunately, some people didn’t appreciate her performance.

A social media user by the name of “Paul A. Szypula” accused Carrington of targeting Clark in Monday night’s game.

“Caitlin Clark was targeted by black players again Monday, this time in Connecticut,” he wrote on X. “Sun guard DiJonai Carrington violently checked Clark then mocked her after the blatant foul. The crowd booed. If races were reversed Carrington would’ve been ejected.”

Carrington wasn’t having any of that nonsense. She replied, “BFFR, PAUL.”

The only thing that is true about Carrington is that she mocked Clark during the first half of action. She basically made fun of the No. 1 pick for apparently flopping. Outside of that, she just went about her business.

Carrington even answered questions about the Sun’s strategy against Clark.

“I think the scout was similar to the last time,” Carrington said. “We switched some things up. It was a lot of one-on-one. We didn’t trap as much.”

The Fever and Sun will meet again until Aug. 28
