Clark has led the Fever to a prime position to make the WNBA Playoffs for the first time since 2016, and she is doing this with record-breaking performances and sellout crowds wherever she plays.
On Tuesday afternoon, ESPN reporter and WNBA legend Rebecca Lobo made a social media post to justify just how spectacular the former Iowa Hawkeyes star has been in her rookie season.
In her post, Lobo pointed out that Clark has accounted for 849 of the Fever’s 2,033 total points (41.8%), either by scoring or assisting. This number marks the most points accounted for and the highest percentage of team points by any WNBA player this season.
Lobo also mentioned that the Fever have had the most difficult strength of schedule through the first part of the season, adding to the impressive nature of the abovementioned statistics.
Clark has completely silenced any skeptics who questioned whether her skills would transfer from the college level to the WNBA. She made the WNBA All-Star game in her first season and received the most amount of fan votes by a wide margin.
In 25 games this season, Clark is averaging 16.8 points, 7.8 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game. She leads the entire WNBA in assists and even became the first rookie in league history to record a triple-double.
Lobo played college basketball with the UConn Huskies from 1991 to 1995, where she won an NCAA championship. She spent the majority of her WNBA career with the New York Liberty and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.
