While the Indiana Fever might have ended their season, Caitlin Clark continues to be in the news. The 22-year-old had first made an appearance during an NFL preseason game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Arizona Cardinals in August. And now the ROTY was again spotted during an NFL game. And this time with her best friend from the Fever locker room. This came as a surprise to CC fans since just a few days ago she had expressed her wish to be on a golf course but now had traded the sport for football.

Clark was spotted in the stands watching the latest game between the Colts and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The Fever writer Scott Agness tweeted a picture of Clark along with her boyfriend Connor McCaffery and teammate Lexie Hull as spectators cheering for the Indiana-based franchise.
The game took place at the Lucas Oil Stadium and Clark’s name along with her image flashed on the big screen. The Indiana star was soon on the screen waving to her fans while McCaffery and Hull clapped. Meanwhile, fans look to be excited cheering for Clark. This wasn’t her first appearance in an NFL game.

The single-season assists leader was previously seen during a preseason game between the Colts and the Arizona Cardinals in August. Even during that time her boyfriend and the then-Indiana Pacers assistant McCaffery was present alongside her. Maybe it was her support that helped the Colts win the game against the Cardinals by a 21-13 margin. That time it had sparked a lot of comparisons to Taylor Swift who had become the center of attraction in football games due to her relationship with Travis Kelce. However, Clark ignored the comparisons. And now that she has once again come to cheer for the Indianapolis franchise, it might help them emerge victorious in the game.
As of now, the game looks to be one-sided as the Colts have scored 17 in comparison to the Steelers’ 3 points. And just like last time, Clark’s magic might help the Colts come out triumphant in the game. Credit also goes to her Indiana roots. Since she was drafted as the number one pick by the Fever, Clark has shown her full support to the city of Indiana. Even her boyfriend McCaffery previously used to be an assistant with the Pacers and now he has accepted a job offer with the Butler Bulldogs, who are also based out of Indiana. But has the point guard, who was originally going to spend her offseason on the greens, really swapped sports?
Caitlin Clark expresses her interest in sports
Growing u,p Clark was a multi-sport athlete at the Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines. She played soccer for two seasons during high school, where she scored 26 goals during her freshman year in just 6 games. Even her father confirmed that had Clark taken up the sport, she would have been as skilled and popular as she is in basketball. However, wanting to concentrate on one sport, Clark had to let go of soccer after 2 seasons. But it did not end her wish to be a two-sport athlete.
So when the Fever lost their playoff dreams to the Connecticut Sun, Clark was asked about her off-season plans. Denying going overseas to make additional money, Clark divulged that she would love to play golf. The number one pick in the 2024 WNBA draft pointed out that she hadn’t thought much about the off-season since she had concentrated her energy on trying to get Indiana deep into the playoffs. However, when that dream was crushed, she joked that she would try to “become a professional golfer.”
“I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow, I don’t know what I’m going to do the next day. Maybe play some golf. That’s what I’m gonna do until it becomes too cold in Indiana. So I got that. I’ll become a professional golfer,” Clark concluded.
Clark had also revealed that as a child she “wanted a set of golf clubs.” Furthermore, she also remembered asking her dad to take her to a golf course where she would practice. “I would beg my dad, like whenever I had a rare weekend I didn’t have, like a soccer tournament or softball or basketball, I would beg my dad to take me golfing.” And now that she is earning good money, Clark has a couple of branded clubs that she would love to try out soon.
Now, Clark has once again shown her interest in the NFL. Maybe she would also try some fun competitions with football. Or maybe just go towards golf. Who knows! But fans would love to catch a glimpse of the sport she plays in the off-season just as much as they did during the summers on a basketball court.
