Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend had a little too much fun on his birthday.

The Indiana Fever rookie’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, experienced backlash after photos of him partying in Las Vegas surrounded by a crew of bikini-clad bottle girls at Encore Beach Club surfaced on social media, thanks to comedian Theo Von, who posted a video on his Instagram story.

Von captioned the clip of McCaffery: “Dress for the future u want.”

Clark fans reacted quickly, defending the rookie phenom, who had a successful weekend on the court, helping the Fever secure back-to-back wins and improve their 11-14 record.

“Get him away from CC this instant she deserves better,” X user @CClarkreport wrote.

“That’s not what my queen deserves,” another fan added.

“Has no one ever went out and had fun on their birthday? Friends surprised him with this. It’s hilarious. Just let people have fun and laugh. Everyone has to make something out of nothing All. The. Time,” another chimed in, defending McCaffery.

Clark shared a wholesome birthday post for her boyfriend on Saturday, following Friday’s 95-86 win against the Mercury, where she recorded seven assists in the first quarter, breaking the franchise record.

She featured a photo of the couple, who celebrated one year together in April, hugging on the court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena during their college days in Iowa.

“Happy Birthday Con! Celebrating you is easy 🙂 thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life,” Clark wrote. “May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me 😉 Love you always.”

“And I’ll keep letting you win those shooting contests!!!!!,” McCaffery, a former member of Iowa’s men’s basketball team and the son of Iowa men’s head coach Fran McCaffery, wrote in response.

On Sunday, the WNBA All-Star tallied 17 points, six assists and three rebounds in the Fever’s 81-74 victory over the Minnesota Lynx.

The Iowa product headlines the WNBA All-Star team — with Chicago Sky rookie forward Angel Reese — that will face Team USA in Phoenix on Saturday before it heads to the Paris Olympics.

McCaffery was also under scrutiny in June after liking negative posts directed at Reese, who is the other favorite for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year.
