Caitlin Clark has been an absolute star in the WNBA in her rookie season. Constantly under the media gaze, maintaining a strictly private life could be difficult for a renowned face like the Indiana Fever rookie. While a lot is known about her off-court life, she has maintained a healthy balance with her privacy.

One of the parts of Clark’s life that has been of keen interest to fans and the media alike is her romantic life. While it is public knowledge that her boyfriend is Connor McCaffery, who played basketball for his father, Fran McCaffery (and baseball) at Iowa, the status of their relationship has raised curiosity.

Clark and McCaffery are often seen showing appreciation and love to each other through their social media posts, wishing on each other’s big days with long messages.

Clark and McCaffery are romantically involved; however, they are not engaged.

According to People magazine, the couple started dating in April 2023. However, it was only in August later that year that their relationship became public after Clark made a post about her “best” summer. She posted a picture with McCaffery on a boat ride and wrote:

“Best end to summer🖤.”

While Clark plays for the Indiana Fever, McCaffery recently took the assistant coach job for the Butler University men’s basketball team earlier this month. He has worked as a team assistant for the Indiana Pacers. It was happenstance that the Fever drew the first pick in the WNBA draft. Butler is located in Indianapolis as well.

Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend reacts to his girlfriend being named unanimous ROTY by AP

The Associated Press voted Caitlin Clark as the unanimous Rookie of the Year for 2024. The Indiana Fever star has performed beyond expectations in her rookie season, leading the ROTY Award race by a large margin.

After Angel Reese lost the last seven games of the season to a wrist injury, Clark was the obvious choice for the award.

After the Indiana Fever’s Instagram page posted that Clark was the unanimous AP ROTY, Clark’s boyfriend didn’t seem surprised at all and had just a one-word reaction:

“Duh.”

While Clark was the favorite to win the award, being voted unanimous wasn’t as obvious as Connor McCaffery reacted. Angel Reese also had a historical season, shattering several WNBA rebounding records.

Caitlin Clark averaged 19.2 points while shooting 41.7%. She led the league in assists per game (8.4) while also averaging 5.7 rebounds per game. She was the only rookie in the league this season who was top 10 in both scoring and assists.
