Taylor Swift stormed the stage in Edinburgh last night for the first night of the UK leg of The Eras Tour.
The American hitmaker, 34, wowed the crowds at Murrayfield Stadium when she performed the three-hour-long show for thousands of fans while crooning more than 45 songs from her discography. But while performing some surprise songs during the acoustic set, Taylor seemingly suffered an on-stage blunder.
During night one of the slew of Scottish shows, which took place on Friday, June 7, Taylor performed a guitar mashup of Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve from Midnights 3am Edition and I Know Places from 1989. The second surprise song was then performed, which was a piano mashup of ‘Tis the Damn Season from Evermore and Daylight from Lover.
The 34-year-old admitted that the blunder had “never happened before” when during her acoustic set, her hand appeared to freeze on stage while holding her guitar. Before performing, Taylor said: “Oh God! Hand cramp!”
Moving and wriggling her hand around in the air, Taylor said: “I’m so sorry everyone, this has never happened before but my hand is frozen, I’m just going to warm it. I’m so embarrassed. My hand’s like a claw!”
One fan said Taylor added: “I have done [a] million shows on this tour and my hand has never decided just to like… it’s like forming a claw. Does anyone… no one relates, anyway.”

Taylor then massaged her hand for a few moments before going on to continue her surprise song section of the Eras Tour setlist. The hitmaker performed the hits in front of 73,000 fans packed into the Murrayfield Stadium, with Taylor even breaking a record while doing so.
Later on during the gig, Taylor addressed the crowd when she said: “I had someone pull me aside and say, ‘Hey, we’ve checked this 20 times and we swear… tonight’s concert is the most highly attended stadium show in Scottish history.’”
She then made the Scottish fans feel even more special when she told them that the country had inspired her lockdown albums Folklore and Evermore, which were released in 2020. She said: “There was so much TV, so much white wine, covered in cat hair. That was my reality. So I thought, ‘I’m going to create an imaginary world and escape into it.’
“That was Folklore, and it was probably based online of videos I’ve seen of Scotland.”
