Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark took her talents to the golf course on Wednesday, playing in the pro-am ahead of The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in Belleair, Florida.

Clark teamed with world No. 1 Nelly Korda for the front nine and the LPGA tournament’s eponymous host, Annika Sorenstam, for the back nine at Pelican Golf Club.

Korda, who was born, raised and lives approximately 90 minutes away from the tournament site, was returning to action after being sidelined nearly two months with a neck injury.

The pairing with Clark drew an extremely large crowd.

Clark, an amateur and casual golfer, didn’t hit every shot perfectly. She hit a spectator with a shot once and came close on other occasions. However, she seemed to thoroughly enjoy herself and performed well for not being an everyday golfer.

Clark had high praise for Korda, calling her amazing and acknowledging the immense skill required to play golf at the level Korda, the world No. 1, has achieved.

“Golf is tough,” Clark admitted, recognizing the challenge of competing at the highest level.

Following the LPGA event, Clark was surprised with a gift that had been three years in the making. Years ago, she had reached out to the LPGA on social media requesting a sweatshirt but had received no response.

To her delight, three years later, Clark finally received the sweatshirt she had asked for — a long-awaited gift that made the experience even more special.

Clark is enjoying a break from the basketball court, taking time to attend various events and unwind. She has been spotted at an Indiana Pacers game, Taylor Swift concerts, and even college basketball games. Her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, coaches at Butler.

Clark is coming off an historic rookie season in WNBA history. She was named Rookie of the Year, led the Fever to the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and earned a spot on the All-WNBA first team.

She led the league in assists in her first season. After the Olympic break, many considered her one of the top two or three players in the league based on her consistent performances. During the final month of the regular season, she was honored with Player of the Month and two Player of the Week awards.
