Angel Reese describes experience playing alongside Caitlin Clark in WNBA All-Star Game

Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark boast one of the top rivalries in women’s basketball.

It dates back to their college careers when they played a pair of high-profile NCAA tournament matchups against each other — both in the Final Four and one for a national title — and now, it continues at the professional level.

But on Saturday night, the duo were teammates for the first time as they helped lead Team WNBA to an upset win over Team USA in the WNBA All-Star Game. Reese finished with a double-double, and while Clark scored just four points, she had 10 assists as she helped facilitate Reese’s 12-point outing.

During the game, Reese described the experience of playing with Clark to the broadcast team.

“It’s so cool, I know when she gets the ball I’m running looking for the ball because I know she’s gonna throw it,” Reese said. “So, she’s been great to play with. I mean, the future — we’re going to be playing with each other a lot. Hopefully, in 4 years we’ll be Olympians together.”

Reese and Clark are both frontrunners for WNBA Rookie of the Year, and this likely won’t be the last time the two play together as they could be perennial All-Stars and, as Reese noted, will likely be favorites to make the 2028 Olympic team.
