Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy was hyped following Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever’s impressive 92-75 win over the Seattle Storm on Sunday. Portnoy, who bet $100,000 on the Fever to the 2024 WNBA championship at 100/1 odds, is confident of gaining a $10 million payout.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Portnoy excitedly shared the news that the Fever were beating another team with a much better record.

“This team, this Indiana Fever team. This is Seattle, they are like 17-9, one of the better teams in the league. We are blowing them out. Up 20, blowout. Caitlin Clark putting up another 20 and 10 assists, whatever. You got Lexie Hull from deep, we got everybody from deep,” Portnoy said.

Dave Portnoy has been a huge fan of Caitlin Clark since her college days for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Portnoy has defended Clark from her haters and has always been hyped about the Indiana Fever rookie.

The Fever have won their first two games since the Olympic break fueled by a rested Clark. The former Iowa star got her first real break since the start of last year’s college basketball season and her stroke looked pretty good against the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm.

Caitlin Clark leads the league in assists per game and total assists this season. She has been a tremendous playmaker for the Indiana Fever and broke another WNBA rookie record in the win against the Storm.

According to ESPN, Clark broke the record for most assists by a rookie in a season previously held by Ticha Penicheiro, who had 224 in 1998. The Fever star needed just three assists to make history but ended up finishing with nine assists to bring her total to 232 with 12 games remaining in the season.

“If you’d told me I was going to lead the league in assists coming in here in my rookie season, I probably would have told you that you were lying. But I take a lot of pride in that. I want to set my teammates up first and foremost, because that’s going to help you have the most successful team,” Clark said.
