Caitlin Clark has left a line of WNBA legends behind in her rookie year. She is averaging 19.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and a mighty 8.4 assists per game. Her three-point game is off the charts, and she boasts a 41.7% FG rate in 39 games. With such well-rounded, supreme statistics disallowing her haters from criticizing her, what do you think is her best attribute?

The Indiana Fever guard has broken two big records in the last week. In Sunday’s 110-109 win against the Dallas Wings, Clark notched a career-high 35 points to surpass Seimone Augustus’ 2006 rookie scoring record of 744 with 761 of her own. And only two days before that, in Indiana’s 78-74 loss against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark made 9 assists, taking her 2024 tally to 321 and surpassing Alyssa Thomas’s 2023 record of 316.

If you haven’t made up your mind yet on her best aspect, here’s WNBA journalist Tony East’s opinion to ease your decision. “All the scoring records are blowing my mind,” he told host Talia Goodman on the ‘Locked On’ podcast, adding, “No one can guard her. The passing is crazy on a new team.”

However, East then elaborated on why her scoring reigns supreme over her passing and all other aspects. “All of them are really ridiculous to me, but I am actually more impressed by the scoring in general than the passing because she figured out the passing so fast,” he added with a chuckle. “She had 3 assists in the first game, 8 in her 5th game, 9 in her 9th game. The scoring kind of came and went.”

Caitlin Clark has comprehensively found her footing within the team and is leading by example. Going into the playoffs as the 6th seed, Indiana is only getting better. But did the 22-year-old envision this dream season before her first game?

Caitlin Clark lauds Indiana Fever’s relentless efforts to make 1st playoffs appearance in 7 years

The Indiana Fever began the 2024 season on the back foot, winning only 2 of 10 games. But they have stamped themselves as the team to look out for in the playoffs at 20-19 and one game to go. Caitlin Clark played a pivotal role in ending the playoff drought; “It really was difficult, but for our group, we never hung our heads,” she said after watching the two games that pushed them into the playoffs.

“We were able to block out the noise, and that’s allowed us to be really good. It was just a matter of when we were going to figure it out,” Clark added. The 6ft Guard also revealed how she never had a doubt about this achievement. In her head, it was a matter of when, not if. This wasn’t a solo effort. 2023’s overall No. 1 pick Aliyah Boston and seventh-year veteran Kelsey Mitchell contributed big too.

However, the team does have one aspect of Clark’s game to worry about – her emotional volatility. Though her technical foul build-up (6) in this season, courtesy of arguing with the refs, won’t carry to the playoffs, if it continues, it could harm her image.
