Caitlin Clark cracked a joke at her own expense after seeing the replay of when she tweaked her ankle during the first half of the Fever’s 84-79 win over the Dream on Monday night.

The Fever rookie turned her ankle while playing defense in the first quarter — and fell to the floor and grabbed her ankle as she writhed in pain.

“I saw the replay, and I look really soft,” Clark said, which drew laughs from Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell and head coach Christie Sides. “It wasn’t that bad of a turn, but it hurt.

“So. sometimes you just need to give yourself a second. If you’ve ever turned your ankle, it just kind of stings for a little bit, so I was good.”

Clark walked under her own power to the bench and was looked at by the training staff.

The star rookie was seen sitting with her shoe off and ankle taped.
