Former Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball head coach Lisa Bluder announced that her daughter, Emma Bluder, is engaged. Following the news, which Bluder posted on her public Instagram account, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark commented.
Lisa shared a picture of Emma holding a sign that read, “I said yes at Jenny Yoo,” while standing in a wedding dress shop. She then captioned the photo with a heartfelt message to Emma.
“So thankful to share this adventure with Emma!! She is going to be a beautiful bride,” Bluder said.
Clark responded to the news, showing some love to her former coach.
“Mother of the bride szn activated… Love this for u,” Clark responded.
The retired Iowa coach and Clark have been known to share a healthy relationship on and off the court. Her message toward the Bluder family shows the bond created during her time at Iowa.
Clark played under Bluder for four years with the Hawkeyes. During her collegiate career, from 2020-24, the Fever guard was one of the most electrifying athletes in the NCAA.
She finished her college career as the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer for both men’s and women’s basketball, scoring 3,951 points. Clark averaged 28.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.1 rebounds per game through four seasons in Iowa.
