Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese is taking heat after sharing a strange post to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday night.
betting breakdown of #8 Miami (-10.5) at California
The former LSU star was unfortunate to have her first season in the WNBA cut short by injury and has since lost out to Caitlin Clark in the Rooie of the Year race after what was a hotly contested rivalry battle.
Reese strangely took to said platform to share a message that had some fans praising her, while others called her out for “Narcissism” and being “delusional.”
“I’ve never in my life had privilege but I definitely know the power I have through my platform,” Reese wrote. “That didn’t come overnight. I grew that on my OWN. With that being said, I will continue to use my voice in the right way & say what’s right even though it has backfired on me to be this “villain”. I won’t stop!!”
“Forever rocking with you 5❤️,” a follower commented.
“We support you. Just ignore the haters. Its sad these people exist, but they only say your name because that is the only way they get views,” another wrote.
“And we 10 toes down with you and for you! Keep cooking and clocking! On and off the court!” someone said.
“Now THIS is Narcissism Holy Hell,” another user claimed.
“I’m sorry that you are delusional. You did all this to yourself,” said another.
“Start with your fans bullying your teammates,” one comment read.
“You ain’t say sht when yo teammates was crying during a postgame interview. Cause yo fans was attacking them but go off 🤷🏿♂️,” another claimed.
“You told the world after the NCAA game. You accepted this challenge in attempt to grow the WNBA. You remember that ? You wanted the villain role,” someone else recalled.
Angel Reese Asked To Be The “Bad Guy” Earlier This Year
It’s unclear what prompted this message from the rookie, but she did claim she would embrace the “bad guy role” back in June.
Meanwhile, things will be different for Reese and Sky next season as the organization has fired head coach Theresa Weatherspoon after a disappointing campaign that saw them miss the playoffs.
